Q&A
I know some of you may be wondering about certain things but choose not to ask, so I've put together a small Q&A to help shed some light on the Den's inner workings. (I'll add more if I think of any more.)
Q: Chi, how come you make more layouts than actual updates?
A: Ahh, err... it's like this: I'm an artist first, a web designer second, and a fan fiction person third. It's just how I am. I got this website because it's, well, a website and I can make it prrrrrretty! It was better than just letting it die off, wouldn't you agree? Anywho, despite its skewed focus, this site's working out just dandy! (' v ')
Q: Why is taking so long to update some author sections?
A: Because some sections are gigantic and can easily take 30 hours to revise. Not kidding you. Think of it like this: there's a really long (but excellent) story from 2000 that's gone through hell and back. Its code must be fixed for it to work. Not to mention typos! I'm sorry, it's my selective OCD. If I spot one, I must correct it! *demented look*
Q: What? You touched my fic? Rrr!
A: Yeah, probably. I'm sorry. Wait, no I'm not. I don't miss spelling errors! However, if you think it was a moral sin on my part, please email me an older version of your ficcie and I swear I'll swap them without a peep.
Q: Pages appear and disappear without notice...
A: They do. I mess with this place a lot. Nothing essential has gone missing, promise. It's more me compacting this place into a smaller, more manageable website. (It needs it: there are over 8,000 files!)
Q: Chi, how come you don't participate in, like, anything? Forums, MLs, blogs...
A: Because I can't multitask; my intermittently neglected DevArt account is proof. I can't keep up with any place where lots of people post often. Brain: information flow too vast; cannot register; shutting down... daaaaaaaisy... ;__;
Q: Chi, how come you fangirled this author more than me?!?!
A: Okies, it's like this: I'm the extremely impulsive and somewhat idiosyncratic artist type that does stuff on a whim. If I feel like drawing something this instant, I do; if I don't then that's that. Also (this said without exaggeration) I have at least 20 things on my to-do list at any given time, so you may catch me with a spinning head or twitchy fingers just itching to draw or type up steamy love letter. What I'm saying is: please don't take it personally if I've drawn fanart for someone's fic and not yours, or if I've fangirled over someone more or something. It's not that I like anyone less—in fact, I love you all a lot and I really don't want anyone to feel left out. But timing is everything with me.
