As I slowly wake I realize that he has already left. I roll to my right to lie on his side of the bed to smell the scent of him. Mmm…sandalwood and….him. I have never been able to define that second scent on him, but whatever it is…it’s intoxicating. I always miss him when he leaves, but I know that he’ll be back because he just can’t get enough of me and I can’t get enough of him either. One of the things that I love about him, is that sometimes I get left little presents because he always says he feels guilty when he leaves before I get a chance to see him in the morning. Sweet ain’t it? Hmm…I wonder what he left me this time.
As I pull myself up into a sitting position, I glance at our clock on the nightstand to find two things. The first being the realization that I slept the day away and the second is an envelope. I look at it questionably because this is the first time I have ever been left a letter. As I open it, I pull out the letter and begin to read:
My Dearest Duo,
You are my everything. I don’t think I could even begin to imagine what life would be like without you. Before I met you, I didn’t show or feel any type of emotion, I took my life for granted. Your love has shown me a new reason for living. I don’t think my love for you could ever die out, even if I tried. You are everything I am not and everything I wish I could be. Having been through hell and back, we have stayed together. Even if I were to die this very moment, I will have died a very happy man because I have learned that it is probably better to have loved and lost, then to have never loved at all. So I thank you for everything that you have given me. Till the end of time you will always be my opposite, my love, my life, and my soul mate. I will love you until the day I die.

A kiss to my temple. “Did you like it?”
I turn to face him. “No.”
Questionable eyes.
