Tiny Dancer

Author's Notes: This is to the song 'Tiny Dancer' By Elton John. What gave me the idea to write this ... I have no clue. Please be kind.

Heero hopped down from the cock pit of his Gundam, sighing deeply. His mission was the shortest, so he had finished first. Now it was just him and Duo.

"Duo ..." Heero felt his lips slowly form a smile before he shook his head, as if to throw away the thought.

Heero knew he was going to be stuck in the safe house for a few days alone with the braided pilot of Deathscythe. What he didn't understand was why that thought made him so damn happy.

"Oh well," he murmured, "I better find the baka before he gets bored and blows the house up, Quatre wouldn't like that."

Heero walked towards the house slowly, fearing the worse. When he looked in he was surprised to find the house perfectly clean ... just the way they had left it.

"That can't be right," Heero thought to himself, "We left the baka alone for four days and it looks like we never left. Unless he got so bored he decided to clean up his mess."

Soft music drifted through the halls. Heero followed the noise hesitantly. He entered the living room just in time to hear the beginning of the next song.

Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in mine, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand'

Heero raised an eyebrow, the tune was to calm to be anything that Duo usually listened to. He must have found it some where, where ever he got it, it had a nice tune, even though the words were kind of strange.

Jesus freaks, out in the street Handing tickets out for God
Turning back, she just laughs
The boulevard is not that bad...'

Heero had to bite his lip to keep from laughing. The words to that line were too bazaar, and yet appropriate. He could picture Duo laughing at the people who were holding tickets saying Jesus gave them to them.

Piano man, he makes his stand
In the auditorium...
Looking on, she sings the songs
The words she knows the tune she hums...'

Duo danced in beat with the music. Heero was amazed, he had never thought that Duo could dance.

But, oh, how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly slowly'

Slowly, Duo's eyes caught Heero's. Duo's eyes were filled with hope, while Heero's seemed to hold a tiny bit of fear.

"Great ... you are afraid of Duo now," Heero's mind yelled at him, "I thought you weren't afraid of anything, and yet one boy is scaring you because you like him and you can't admit it to him. It took you forever to admit it to yourself. Just tell him!" Heero tried to push the annoying voice out of his mind.

Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
you had a busy day today'

Hesitantly, Heero stepped into the room where Duo was. He was quickly grabbed by Duo and was dancing himself.

"Welcome home, Heero," Duo murmured.

"Thank you Duo," Heero eyes closed briefly.

"Do me a favor."

"What's that?"

"Hold me close"

"Huh?" Heero was slightly taken aback by Duo's request. "I thought you wanted to dance."

"I'm tired of dancing," Duo's eyes closed as Heero pulled him closer. Snuggling up to Heero, he fell asleep.

"The baka probably hasn't gotten any sleep since we left," Heero whispered to himself. He carried Duo to his room and laid him down on his bed. Right before Heero waked away he kissed Duo lightly on the forehead.

Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand...

Duo cracked open an eye as soon as Heero left, "Love you ... Hee-chan," he murmured right before sleep over came him again.
