“damn it heero! give the laptop a rest already!”
heero merely glanced up at the braided boy in front of him and returned to his work. next to him, quatre stifled a small giggle.
duo slammed the laptop shut, almost catching heero’s fingers in the process. “we are on vacation, heero. does that word mean anything to you? why can’t you relax and have fun? blow stuff off for a change.”
heero raised an eyebrow. “and be like you?”
“sure! you could use some lessons in enjoying yourself.”
“that would be a sight—heero with duo’s personality,” trowa commented.
quatre leaned back in the grass and stared up at the clear sky dreamily. “what if we could....”
“could what?”
the blond blushed slightly and looked at the other four pilots. “switch personalities. be someone else for a day.”
duo’s eyes lit up. he jumped off the cabin steps and pulled quatre to his feet. “q-man! that would kick ass! heero has to be me!” he swung the other boy around, leaving quatre to fall over onto wufei. the chinese pilot promptly shoved him off.
trowa shrugged. “i’ll try it.”
“oi, trowa, that’s great!” duo said grinning. “i can be you then.”
“what about the rest of us?” wufei asked hesitantly. he wasn’t sure he liked the idea, but if the others were up for it, he couldn’t turn it down.
“well.....“duo tapped a finger against his chin. “trowa, you can be wufei. and wufei, you can be quatre, i suppose. and that leaves quatre as heero.” he smirked slightly. “gomen, q-man. i guess you don’t get a personality.”
heero glared at the american. “i’m not doing it.”
“aw, heero, kudasai?” quatre asked staring at him with sad blue eyes.
“think of it this way,” trowa said, “duo can’t terrorize you if he’s me. but you can’t terrorize the rest of us if you’re duo.”
that got the japanese boy’s interest. finally, he nodded his assent.
“yeah!” duo crowed punching the air. “starting tomorrow morning the gundam pilots get some new personalities!”
