Chapter 9

“What’s going on, Hilde?” I asked, mumbling a little still. I tend to do that if I’ve just woken up. “Is it good or bad?”

“It’s good!” She said, pulling me from my new bed. I’d gotten a new one after we found Duo hanging from my last one. I just wouldn’t be able to sleep otherwise. We’d given Duo a proper funeral after an autopsy was performed and they determined his cause of death to be… actually, I’d never heard what it was. They hadn’t told me yet.

“How good is good?” I said, starting to run behind her down the corridor to the receiving room. It’s a huge room, decorated much like a ball room, but with no place to dance. It’s got large, overstuffed sofas and leather recliners with a few round tables to talk around. A very informal room, that it is.

As we walked into the room, I looked around… and then I saw what Hilde had meant. “Quatre!” I said, stepping behind where he was sitting on a sofa. “Please pardon my lack of proper attire, but I was rudely awakened but a few moments ago.” I said, very regally and he looked at me… and smiled.

“I understand, please, sit down, Miss Relena. I have some information that I think will help you.”
