"Mommy, Mommy! Shadow took my doll!" Kaitlen cried, running to Lila. The Rottweiler held the skeleton doll happily. "Shadow! Drop it!" Lila ordered and the dog dropped it and slunk to the corner. "Thank you mommy." Kaitlen smiled, as she ran to her doll. "Now go play, or we won't go to see Aunt Mel." The girl hugged her and ran out to the living room. "Has it really been five years?" Lila asked as Duo walked back in from his scrap pile. "What do you think?" He teased, and held his hands to his chest. "So, where's the daughter of Death?" "You mean the maiden of mischief. She's been chasing Shadow all day to get that skeleton doll you got her." Duo laughed and hugged her. "Mommy! Grampa's here!" She cried, running in. "Let him in." She said, smiling at the blonde child. She surprised everyone, her hair should have genetically been like theirs, but then again, who knew what to expect. "Grampa!" She cried as Howard walked in with her on his shoulders. "Hey Howard, how's it goin'?" Duo asked, grinning. "Just fine, but I heard all this talk about Relena visiting this colony." "Thanks for the warning, Howard." Lila said as she went back to cooking. "At 24 you have a wife and a child, hmm, you're better off then you where when you was crazy for the human computer." Howard joked, as he poured himself some coffee. "Oh, that must be Melody, I'll get it." Lila said as she ran down the long hall to the door. "Hello my dear." The boy grinned. "Chris?! What the hell?!" She backed up. "I had to visit you, you're not surprised? You always were when you had me visit. Don't you remember...you loved me." He came in closer, backing her into the large T.V stand. "Or did you forget?" He asked, she was so scared she could barely speak. "Y...You were that OZ soldier w...who...." She stuttered in terror. "Raped you? Oh, rape is such a harsh word. I like the term 'made-love' better." "Made love?! She hissed. "You raped me with a fuckin' knife, leaving me to bleed to death!" She hurried to run to the kitchen. "Not so fast my pet." "I don't know how you're here, Duo shot you in the head!" She spat as he slammed her against the stand. "Oh my pet, I had you first, then the other man who brought you to me had his turn, he paid for his." He laughed. A gunshot rang out and Lila clenched her eyes shut, preparing for a searing pain somewhere. But when she peeked out, Chris was lying life-less on the floor, bleeding in his chest. "Oh thank God!" Lila breathed and slid to the floor. "Are you ok?" Duo's youngest friend, Maximillan rushed in. "Yes, Maxi, I'm ok, just a bit shaken." She said as the worried teen helped her up. "What was that?" Duo asked at they all ran out. "Maxi shot Chris, he was the OZ guard who..." Lila paused as her daughter came up to her. "Mommy, are you ok?" She asked, her little blue eyes filled with fear. "Oh Kaitlen, I'm fine." Lila scooped the girl into her arms and stood, just a bit shaky. "Uncle Maxi!" Kaitlen smiled happily as her 'uncle' handed her a toy. He brought her a toy some times when he came over. "Oh, a truck! Thank you Uncle." She hugged him and then ran off to play with her new toy. "Thank god he visits daily." Lila said, holding Duo for support. "Did he say why he was back?" "To amuse himself, of course." Lila said as they all went to the kitchen, save for Maxi who disposed of Chris. "I never want to see another person from my past again." Lila said, sinking into a chair.
"Zechs, you seem restless." Relena said as they drove to the Representative's office. "Oh, it's nothing." He said, but he knew Lila lived here. "How is she? Is she still alive? Did those OZ bastards take her and kill her?" Those thoughts ran through his mind constantly. "I don't love her, but why am I thinking of her?" He mused. "Damn, I knew that girl would be the end of me the first day I ran into her." He thought back to their meeting and short acquaintance.
