"You can pack your fuckin' stuff and fuckin' leave!!!" He yelled, as a woman hung up her phone. She looked back at her daughter, who was crying in the backseat and just snapped. "Look at what you've caused!" The woman just drove on in silence as her young daughter sobbed in the backseat of the car. They arrived at the womans Aunts house and went to sleep in the guest room. Early the next morning, the young girl walked out to the stream and opened her journal. Before making her entry, she looked down and saw a squirrel twitching its tail, and looking at her with its almond shaped eyes. She smiled and let a small tear trickle down her cheek and turned to her journal. "Dear Journal, my mom and I have just been kicked out. I have no clue what I'm going to do next." She looked up and sighed...at the age of 15, she should be able to be happy, off at the mall with friends. But no, her parents drug her into a depression-filled divorce. "This might not be so bad."
"Mom, why am I staying with dad again?" She asked. "Neveah, please, I told you, I just don't want you here tonight. Ok?" Her mom rushed her out to the car. "Be good, ok?" Her mom dropped her off at the top of the hill, just up the street from her dad's house. She grumbled as she walked down the hill. No one was home, as usual. She let herself in and sat on the chair and cried. "No one wants me. What am I going to do?" She looked at the clock, her tears streaming down her face, she muttered "Oh if only I could find enough money, I'd buy myself a ticket to space. I could go see Quatre again!" She smiled and knew what she had to do...she went and found a screwdriver from the tool chest and pried her fathers safe open. She took only enough to get her a one-way ticket and lunch, and she had enough change for a pay phone. "Quatre, I hope you remember me." She prayed, as she hoisted her bookbag with her few possessions over her shoulder. "Now, its a long walk to the spaceport." She sighed and grabbed a bottle of water as she started off.
"Neveah Walker!" A car screeched to a halt as it passed the brunette. She turned to see it was her ex-classmate, Jason Ryan, in his red Camaro. "Where you goin', girly!?" He asked as he opened the door to let her in. "Oh Jason, I have to get away. The divorce has just...I can't explain." She sighed and hugged him. "Girl, just tell me where you're going." He asked, as he slicked his blonde spiky hair back. "I'm going to space. I want to get out of here. I have only enough money for a one-way ticket and lunch, though. She said as she showed him the money. "Well, sweetie, I got good news for ya. I've got a little 2-room apartment on L4, if that's where you're going." "It is!" "Good, you up for moving with me?" She hugged him tightly and smiled. "Of course, Jason. When are you leaving?" "Next week, do you think you can wait?" He asked as they sped down the highway. "No, they'll have the cops after me as a "missing persons case" in 2 days, I have to go now." She said, as she brushed her hair out of her face. "Do you think I could have the key and the address, I'll have the place all ready for you." "Sure, just careful not to loose it." He smiled and handed her the key. "I'll be careful. I'll see you in a week." She hugged him as he dropped her off at the spaceport. She got in line and looked back one last time at earth. "Time for a new beginning." She sighed and stepped forward.
