As Lila walked down the aisle of the newly rebuilt Maxwell Church, she smiled at her sister. The white roses in her hair and her bouquet were a gift from her. As the priest turned to her, she gazed deeply into his amethyst eyes. "I do, I do with all my heart." As she tossed her bouquet, she spied Heero glaring at her. She just smiled at him. As they were boarding her limo, an old man in Hawaiian shirt came up. "Ah, Duo, I never thought I'd see the day you'd get married." He said, "Thanks Howard." Duo said, sarcastically as they got into the limo. "Or should I say Grampa?" Howard flinches. "Well, it'll be true, soon." Duo says, glancing at a blushing Lila.
2 years later
"You're not old enough to drink and you have a kid?!" Howard asked as Duo drove him to the hospital. "Chill." Duo mumbles as they run up the stairs. "Melody, is she ok?" She's in labor now. Sit." She said, as Jason held her hand. As they waited, Duo puffed away at his second pack of cigarettes. "It's a girl and they're both fine." The nurse said as she led them back there. "Duo, hehehe, how do you like the daughter of death?" Lila joked tiredly. "Oh Lila, she's beautiful." Duo smiled as he held the baby. "Lets name her Kaitlen." Lila said as he laid the baby on her chest. "Kaitlen Maxwell." Duo said, sitting down. "Sounds good to me." He grinned, kissing her, then the baby. "Such a happy family." Melody said, rubbing her swollen belly. "Another month and a half and I'll be happy mom too." She smiled, hugging Jason. "Well, I guess it all came out right. The war and my pains are gone, and what do I have to show? A loving husband and a beautiful child." Lila thought as she drifted into a contented sleep, for once, happy with her life.
