Disclaimer: I do not own Gundam Wing. Though I really wish that I did. Hey, I can dream can’t I? Well anyway don’t even bother suing me. Because it won’t be worth your time and effort. I don’t have any money anyway. ^-^;;
Warning: This fic does contain shounen ai, it may be slightly depressing and there is some OOC. I just thought that it would be a good idea for me to set up some kind of warning. ^-^
Quatre sighed as he unlocked the door. I wonder whom this could be he thought briefly to himself. When he finally got the door opened he sighed when he saw who it was. “Oh, hi Miss Relena.” He said as he let her in.
Relena heaved a sigh. “Oh, hi Quatre.” She said as she took a quick look around the room.
“Are you looking for something, Relena?” Quatre asked. He knew what she wanted and he knew that she wasn’t going to leave until she found out what she needed. So he figured it would probably just be a whole lot easier to be nice to her.
“Is my Hee-Chan back yet?” She asked as she continued to search the immediate area.
“No, he hasn’t gotten back yet…” Quatre said as he began walking towards the living room, where he was reading his book before Relena had arrived.
“Oh…” Relena said, sounding exceptionally disappointed.
“But you know…you can stay and see if he gets here. Maybe he’s just falling behind, or something.”
“Or maybe not…” Wufei added coldly.
“What do you mean by that, Wufei?” Duo asked as he perked up in his seat on the couch.
“Well, there is the possibility that Yuy didn’t make it.” Wufei said as he grinned evilly.
Duo whimpered to himself. Could Wufei be right? What if Heero was killed? But wouldn’t I have known? Of all people I would have known the best wouldn’t I?
Relena looked as though she was going to begin crying at any minute. “You don’t really mean that…do you Wufei?”
Everyone except Relena and Duo sweatdropped, as Relena’s face grew increasingly red.
“Hn! Weak onna…” Wufei muttered as he went back to reading his book.
The room fell silent once again, except for, of course the soft sobs of Relena as she cried for her Heero.
Time seemed to slow down; a few hours had only gone by. But for Relena and Duo it felt like nearly eternity. Duo yawned and sat up on the couch. Blinking sleepily he looked over at the clock to see what time it could be. Then he stood up and staggered over to the front door and went outside.
<Sigh> I wonder when he’s coming back. Duo thought as he gazed out into the evening sky. It had gotten pretty late and there was still no sign of Heero at all. Shivering slightly he decided to go for a little walk. Just to get his mind off of Heero for a little while. And so he could just think about a few other things.
Back at the mansion. Relena stirred restlessly. When will he be coming back? I need my Heero. And I know that he needs me too. This mission must have been tough. If it took the ‘perfect soldier’ this long. I just hope that Wufei was wrong though. I really do.
Finally she stood up. Then looking around at the puzzled faces around her she sighed and sat back down. She had never felt so embarrassed in her entire life. She didn’t know why. But for some reason this whole situation was making her feel very uncomfortable.
Relena quickly scanned the room for a moment. Something wasn’t right. Something was missing but what…? Thinking for a moment the name sprang into her mind. Duo. Where did he go off to? She thought.
“Where did Duo go?” She asked.
“I think he went for a walk or something. He’s been really down lately…” Quatre said as he switched positions on the chair he sat in.
Relena looked confused. “What do you mean by ‘down lately?’” She asked as she sat up in her seat on the couch. She was kind of curious as of why this would bother the pilot of Deathscythe so much.
“You mean you don’t know…?” Quatre asked, seeming very surprised.
“I don’t know what?” Relena asked, a little more demanding.
“Uhhh…She really doesn’t know…” Quatre said. Looking as though he wished he had never even said anything.
Wufei sighed deeply. “Just as I thought. She is a stupid, clueless, weak onna.”
Quatre and Trowa exchanged quick glances.
“You can tell her, Quatre…” Trowa said as he leaned back in his seat.
“Well, you see…Trowa and I have been going out for a while and…”
<Sigh> “Come on. Everyone knows that! But what does this have to do with my Hee-Chan?”
“I’m getting to it. Well, anyway, you see, Duo kind of has this thing for Heero and…”
“What?” Relena said a look of doubt coming over her face. “But what does Heero think of Duo?”
“We don’t know.”
The room fell silent. “Well, I think I’d better be going now…” Relena said as she tried to hold back the tears. Heero was hers and she knew it. But how was she going to convince them of that. She knew her Heero was straight. But how…Wait a minute! She thought to herself. Her Heero loved her from the beginning. He just had to be hers.
Relena thought about Duo for a moment as she stepped out of the mansion and into her small pink limo. There was something that bothered her about him. And she just couldn’t figure out what it was. Hmmm…the boy calls himself Shinigami, which in turn means God of Death. But what if that wasn’t just a nickname? What if it was true? What if Duo was just using Heero? What if he had control over her Heero’s mind?
Relena was feeling overly tired but she decided to do some research on the boy who called himself the god of Death. So as soon as she got home she did a little searching.
Duo came inside. He was cold and he wished that he had brought a jacket with him. Going to his room he figured that Heero wasn’t home yet. And had noticed that Relena had gone home and the boys were now in bed.
Duo quietly made his way down the hall to his room. Which wasn’t all that hard seeing that sneaking in unnoticed was one of his specialties. Quickly getting changed he slipped into his bed. It was nice and warm. But it would have been better if Heero were there to share it with. Duo sighed longingly as he looked over to the opposite side of the bed. Which for now was empty. Just like his soul. But does Shinigami even have a soul? He thought to himself. But still as the same time, when Heero left, a part of him left as well. And in its place was left a dark, empty, hole.
Duo tried to sleep but he couldn’t. Even when he did he had dreams of Heero dying. Or something. Duo stared up at the ceiling as he thought about the past few days.
