Hera got out of her chair stiffly, still recovering from the long swim she had the previous day. “Nice to meet you Trowa…” She smiled at him as he gathered his books together.
His gace turned red “Err…yeah.” He said as a small smile went across his face.
“See ya around.” she said cheerfully over her shoulder. She opened the heavy door and was met by Junior’s cheerful smile.
“Hey what’s he like??” He asked excitedly, as they turned to go to their next class, which was gym.
“Oh…Trowa’s nice. He’s very shy and quiet…you wouldn’t really think that he can pose much of a threat to OZ not to mention be one of the most wanted people in Universe…” She said quietly as the other four teens gathered together to block out anybody within earshot “But I guess its the machinery that makes the man today…” She sighed.
“Yeah…Heero wasn’t at all what he is like in our time. He’s really quiet and has a very powerful air about him…” Ai replied quietly.
“We better get to our next class…” Trevor interrupted the little group’s discussion.
“What IS our next class?” Junior blinked.
“Gym” Hera said as she walked down the hall to the female’s locker room. Ai and Quatren followed as they opened the door. All the girls stopped talking. Ai glanced around the room and seemed to try to stare down all the girls. One particular girl emerged from the crowd of silent girls. She had long brown, almost blond hair and navy blue eyes. She smiled contentedly.
“Hello, I am Relena Peacecraft I welcome you to the school.” She said warmly.
“Hello, I’m Hera.” The bronzed lean girl said a little loud, so that everyone could catch her name. Hera smiled and held out a hand for the other girl to shake. The other girl took her hand and shook it lightly. “These are my friends, Quatren, and Ai.” Hera introduced them to the crowd of girls.
“Are you by anyway related to my Heero?” Relena asked looking almost concerned.
Hera raised her eyebrows to what the girl had said. My…Heero? She laughed as she began talking “ No I am in no way related to Heero, nor do I know him. I guess it’s just a coincidence…” She replied cocking an eyebrow at the irony of the lie she had just told. She wanted to say…He’s my father…but she knew that that would be a very stupid mistake. Hera couldn’t help but notice the other girl’s face flash in relief. “I’ve gotta go and get changed…it’s nice meeting you.” Hera said sweetly as she walked to the back of the locker room, pushing her way through the crowd of girls.
Ai stood guard as the other girl’s uniforms shifted into Black shorts and a white t-shirt with white sneakers splashed with neon yellow and blue. When the other two where done, they stood guard as their friend shifted into her gym strip.
“Done.” the raven haired girl replied as she self-consciously yanked on the school uniform. “This is rediculous…” She muttered as they walked out of the locker room and over to where the boys were gathered quietly confiding about something.
Hera frowned at the behavior the males had shown. “What?” she asked seriously.
Trevor pushed Junior in front of Hera. He started to fidget and yank nervously on the end of his braid.” Um…I…We…” He glanced at Trevor nervously for backup.
“Spit it out Maxwell…” Ai interrupted impatiently shifting her weight to her other foot.
“How are we going to tell them who we are?” Junior asked quickly.
“Oh…I haven’t really thought about that. I’ll think of something by the end of the class.” Hera responded in her I’ll-get-right-on-that voice. “We better go, ne?” she suggested as she pointed to the other students that were filtering out into the gymnaisium. She started to walk towards the students without waiting for a reaction from the group. How are we going to do this…?
“Okay! Class! I welcome the five new students…Obviously they know about the gym strip regulations!” The overly tanned man said to the Hera’s group. “ Well…today we are going to be doing gymnastics!” He said cheerfully as the group of teens groaned in protest. Quatren and Hera were secretly happy because this was their best sport. The smiled at each other.
“Okay!” The man clapped his hands together to get the attention of the class. “I want you to divide into three different groups, the rubber-banded people, the sorta flexible, and the I-have-around-as-much-flexiblilty-as-dead-cat group.” He smiled at his own joke as the students formed three groups. Hera and Quatren went to the flexible group and Ai went to the semi-flexible group while Trevor and Junior went into the Unflexible group.
“Hey Trowa!” Hera said cheerfully to the tall boy that was standing outside of the group alone. She walked over to him, Quatren followed.
“Hello.” He said quietly.
“This is my friend Quatren.” Hera said politly pushing her friend towards the boy.
“Uhh…hi…” she said shyly.
“Now!” the teacher yelled as he clapped his hands together. “This group, go with Mrs. Watsoon, she is going to get you started with some stretches.” He pointed to the group that Trevor and Junior were in, which was the largest. “This group will come with me. We’re going to go do some basic gymnastics!” He pointed a little over enthusiastically to the group Ai was in. Hera could see her roll her eyes and mutter to herself. “And this group will go with Miss. Welch, They will go and do some beam work. Get Going!” He ordered as he pointed t the smallest group of around six students.
Hera and the other students followed the small-set woman reluctantly towards the high beam that was in the centre of the Gym. “Okay…Does anyone have any exprience with the high-beam?” The woman asked quietly as the students gathered around her. Hera and Quatren both raised their hands. The woman smiled. “Good…How long have you been doing this?” Miss. Welch asked, pointing to Quatren.
“Oh…I my father made me do it.” She smiled. Hera chuckled at the partial lie her friend said. It was true, in some measure. Hera and the other pilots were forced to take some sort of class that would help them with their balance and flexiblity.
“Could you show us some movements that might be useful?” she asked Quatren.
Quatren shrugged and walked up to the Beam. “ Sure.” She grabed hold of the beam and slowly hoisted herself up, into a handstand, she then went into a back walk-over, her feet touching the beam gracefully. She stood and smiled as the class applauded.
“Very good. What is your name?” The teacher asked.
“Ohh…Quatren.” she beamed a smile at the teacher. She turned and tok a few steps and jumped into a no-hand cartwheel. She landed just a few steps short of the beam. She didn’t bother to turn, she bent over back wards and went into a back walkover not landing on her feet but sliding slowly into the splits. She hoisted herself up into a handstand and put one foot down on the beam in front of her while the other was still in the air. She put her other foot down infront of her. She flipped her blond hair over her shoulder and smiled as the students clapped politly. “My friend can do more than me.” She said bashfully.
“That was outstanding. Who is your friend?” She asked looking around.
“Hera? Where’d she go?” Quatren frowned as she searched the gym. Trowa was standing in the back scratching his head sheepishly. Quatren jumped down from the beam and walked over to him. “Where’d she go?” she asked as the teacher started to explain the movements Quatren just did. The students turned to face the teacher.
“I told her that somebody was waiting for her in the library.” He said quickly.
“Fine.” She turned on her heel and ran out of the gym. Trowa followed.
“Wait! Where are you going?” The teacher yelled as the tw reached the doorway.
“Umm…Didn’t you hear the announcement? They just asked for Trowa and I” Quatren lied, sounding very sincere.
“Fine.” the teacher said not thinking twice about what the girl had said.
The two ran down the hallway. Quatren stopped quickly and Trowa almost smashed into her. “Where is it?” She asked turning to him impatiently.
“Down here.” The tall silent boy replied pointing down the hallway. She started to run down the hall. She stopped infront of a door and wipped it open. She let out a sigh of relief as she saw Hera sitting at the table with three other people. It was Junior, Duo and Heero.
“What’s going on Hera?” Quatren asked angrily as she slammed a fist on the table.
Hera’s head snapped up. “Quatren, as the medical officer, you have no right to interfere with this meeting. Leave or face the consequences.” She replied angrily her gaze not leaving her face.
“You could’ve told me Hera. I have right to know.” Quatren said quietly.
“Not right now you don’t, so leave.” She replied angrily. “NOW!” she got out of her seat, her chair grating noisily against the floor.
“Fine.” Quatren said sounding like her feelings were hurt. She turned on her heel and walked pass Trowa who had been standing quietly behind her.
Heero looked at Trowa. “Leave please. I’ll explain everything later.” He asked politly.
Trowa nodded and followed after Quatren.
“Okay.” Hera said sounding emotionless. “We are here to ask you help with something.” She continued.
“With what?” Duo asked “First of all…who are you and where do you really come from?” He asked his face contorted with mistrust.
“Well, I guess we owe you that…but first we must know if there is any way we can store our Gundam suits to do some detailed work on them.” She said quickly in her best business tone.
“Gundams?! “ Duo said in astonishment. He gave a sidelong glance at The silent soldier who was looking a little surprised himself.
“How did you get a hold of these mysterious Gundams?” Heero asked quietly.
“Answer our question and then we’ll answer yours.” Junior responded impatiently. Heero gave him his notorious murderous glance.
“How do you know that we have such…facilities at our disposal? Why are you coming to us?” Heero asked.
“Tell us what we want to know and I’ll answer that question.” Hera persisted.
“No you can’t, not untill we know what it is you’re up to.” Heero said cooly crossing his arms infront of him.
“Fine then. We, well the five of us are from the future.” She responded quickly. Her gaze hardened into a glare. “ We are from After Earth 5.” She paused looking for a reaction. Which she was satisifed with.
“What d you mean ‘After Earth’?” Duo blurted.
“It’s exactly what I mean. Earth will be destroy in twenty years. We are here to stop the ship that will make the race that will destroy us.” Junior responded passionatly.
“Who are they?” Heero asked almost unemotionally, but Hera could tell that he was going through some amount of shock.
“They are called human Hybrids. In around two months, on September 3rd at 15:30, there will be a large vessel that will be sent into space. It will carry with it, DNA from all over the world, and a machine capable of turning the DNA into humans. The computer automatically upgrades itself. It started to take the characteristics of humans. Mainly self-preservation and hate. It will enstilled in the minds of millions of people that it made, that they are the gods of the human race, they will attack and annhilate earth in a matter of two hours. Earth cannot uphold very long since they are just recovering from the great battle. Luckily, you five will be in a deep coma on your way to the new colony, L-44098. “ Hera explained patiently.
“Well, what are you going to do? And what do you mean about luckily?” Duo asked angrily.
“We are going to destroy the ship. What do we mean about ‘luckily’? Well, we are…um…” Junior stuttered and started to tug on the end of his braid nervously.
“We are your children. Your direct dissents to the line of Gundam Pilots. I am your daughter, Heero and Junior’s real name is after his father you, Duo. Then Quatren is Quatre’s daughter, Ai is Wufei’s and Trevor’s father is Trowa.” She said pointing to herself and her partner.
“Who’s your mother?” Duo asked trying to surpress his excitement.
“We don’t know. The ovaries were mysteriously donated. All DNA traits of the mothers were taken out so that we would only inherit our father’s physical traits. The egg donors where from all over the galaxy so it is really hard to say.” Hera shrugged.
“How do we know that you aren’t lieing?” Heero asked suspicously.
“Well…it’s obvious isn’t it?” Junior laughed as he tugged on his braid. He glanced sidelong at his father that sat in disbelief staring at Junior.
Duo started to laugh. Everyone at the table looked at him like he had lost his mind.
“What’s so funny Duo?” Heero asked who was obviously not catching the joke.
“Wufei…has…a…DAUGHTER!!” Duo howled grabbing at his sides he almost fell off the chair.
“He’s actually an amazing father. He didn’t mind at all.” Hera smirked at the boy who now was gasping for air. “So…can you help us?” She asked seriously, ignoring Duo when he fell off his chair.
“Fine.” Heero growled as he yanked the boy off the floor by his braid. “Meet us at the gate at 18:30. We’ll go get your Gundams and put them in the Hangar.” He got up tugging the boy who was now trying to get the precious yard-long braid out of his grasp.
“Untill then.” Hera waved as Heero and Duo went out the door.
“Man, what a character…” Junior smiled as he looked at the door the two boys dissapeared through.
“No kidding…I guess I know where you got it from.” Hera chuckled as she relaxed and stretched in the chair.
“I wish he was still like that. But i guess since the hybrids destroyed his colony…he just wasn’t the same.” Junior sighed.
“Yeah…I know, Junior…Dad told me it was like his soul…just died, leaving an empty shell…” Hera said trying not to sound too corny.
Yeah I know Hera, I know… Duo thought soberly.
