“Er…you guys…she’s gone.” Hera said as Quatren emitted a muffled moan. Her eyes flew open and Heero rolled off of her. Hera shut the door behind her and watched as the two scrambled for their shirts. “That good, eh?” Hera chuckled.
“Where is she?” Heero asked in a low voice.
“Gone, she ran down the hall wailing like a banshee.” Hera chuckled as she jabbed her thumb to the closed door.
“Good.” Heero muttered as he put his shirt on.
Quatren cleared her throat and looked at Hera, her face was flushed. “You don’t need me?” She asked quietly.
“Nope.” Hera shrugged as she watched Quatren get up and walk clumsily to the door. “Nothing that went on in this room will be repeated unless you two want to say something. I’m sorry you had to do that Quatren, I would’ve done it…but…” She trailed off.
“Alright.” Quatren shrugged as she opened the door, she smiled at Hera. “You owe me.” She added and then stepped out and closed the door.
“Wow…that was really intense.” Hera said as she slumped onto the bed. Heero was still sitting but he was staring out the window again.
“Hn…”He grumbled as he stood up and pulled his shirt over the very obvious bulge in his pants.
Hera ignored it to save his dignity and watched him leave. Junior passed him as he silently made his leave.
Hera glanced out the window and watched the sunset. She stood and looked at Junior.
“What was that about?” He asked.
“Oh nothing.” Hera shrugged as she walked passed him, he sat on the bed and took a deep breath.
“I mean, I know you have that effect on people…but Heero?” Junior chuckled.
Hera turned and grinned at him “And what is that supposed to mean?” She asked.
He rolled his eyes and slumped back on the bed. “Oh y’know.” He shrugged.
“Hentai.” She muttered with a grin as she walked out of the room and closed the door.
Hera walked to the kitchen and saw Quatren leaning on the side of the counter taking deep breaths, she had a coffee poured out in front of her. She gasped as she felt a hand go on her shoulder. She turned and saw Hera. “Oh, Hera.” She said weakly.
“If I knew that this was going to effect you that bad, I wouldn’t have put you up to it.” Hera said quietly, her hand slid off of her shoulder and went on the counter. Hera took a cup out of the cupboard and poured herself something to drink.
“No, its really not that…its…he’s such a good kisser! By god! He’s amazing!” Quatren said quickly and almost in a whisper so that no one could hear them.
Hera choked on her coffee. “What!” She yelled.
“Yes, that boy has a talented tongue!” Quatren said quietly.
“Quatren!” Hera giggled. “You whore!”
Quatren laughed. “It’s not like….wait…never mind. Lets go somewhere else.” She said as she grabbed her coffee in one hand and Hera’s elbow in the other. She ushered the other up the stairs and up to the attic and then out onto the porch where they climbed up to the roof, it was flat so it wasn’t hard for them to walk around. When Hera had gotten up there, she looked to see Ai sitting on the edge, the setting sun to her back. Quatren was already walking up to her and sat on the ledge to her right. Hera walked over and sat on Ai’s other side.
“Okay, well, it’s just that…I’m so bored with Trevor. He’s so…I don’t know just slow and Heero was there and it was forced on us.” Quatren shrugged.
Ai frowned “What are you talking about?” She asked…
“Oh, while you were up here, Relena came to visit and I was forced to create a diversion …so Quatren was forced onto Heero by me and they kept on going when she left, I walked in and they were both really into it.” Hera chuckled. “I mean, shirts off and the whole bit…Heero could barely walk.” She broke into uncontrollable fits of giggles.
Quatren turned red and so did Ai. “You mean…you and Heero…” Ai frowned.
“No! Nothing like that. It was just…”
Hera cut in “Pretty Damned close!” She said as she took a drink.
“What about Trevor?” Ai’s frowned deepened.
“I-I feel bad, but it was forced onto me so, it was nobody’s fault.” Quatren shrugged.
“Are you going to tell him?” Hera asked.
“Already did, he said that as long as it meant nothing, he would forgive me.” Quatren said happily.
Hera looked relieved. “Good. Is he coming after me?” She asked.
“No.” Quatren said as she took a drink and looked at Ai. A tear ran down her face. “What’s wrong Ai?” She asked.
“N-n-nothing.” She said as she wiped the tear away and sniffled.
“You don’t cry for nothing. What’s a wrong?” Hera asked looking worried for the girl.
“I-I saw Treize when we went on that mission.” Ai gushed.
Hera frowned. “what happened?” She asked.
“Nothing. Nothing but I’m so curious to see who he is.” She whispered.
“You’re not implying…” Hera muttered.
Ai looked up at her. “Please, I want to see him just once.” She pleaded.
Hera closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “I’m going to say no as a commander…but as a friend I’m still going to say no. But I know you won’t listen to me so all I’m going to say is be careful and come back to me.” She said as she took Ai’s face in her hands and wiped the tears away with her thumbs.
Quatren looked at her. “Yeah, come back to us.” She said as she hugged Ai. “Cause we love you.” She muttered in Ai’s ear. “All of us.” She added.
“Lets stop with the mushy-ness.” Hera said as she withdrew and stood up. “Now, hurry up before I change my mind and be back in time.” She added as she walked to the end of the roof and crawled down, Ai followed but Quatren stayed. “Why is she staying up there?” She asked.
“She said she wanted to think.” Ai shrugged as she followed Hera down the stairs and into the living room where Trevor, Trowa, Quatre, Junior, Duo and Wufei were sitting. Hera sat down but Ai stood and looked around the room, she looked at Hera and smiled then walked to her hangar. Hera looked at the boys. They all seemed to be in a trance, staring at the TV. Quatre sighed and looked at Trowa and then up at Hera he smiled.
“Where’s Quatren?” Trevor asked quietly as he looked at her, giving her a piercing stare.
“Er…roof.” She said as she sat down on the floor, leaning against the couch arm.
Trevor got up and left them. Junior slithered over to her and leaned against the couch arm besides her. “What’s wrong?” He asked.
“Stress. That’s all.” She shrugged.
He clucked his tongue and put his hands on her shoulders and rubbed them. She groaned and turned her back to him and he slowly rubbed the tense muscles.
Ai flipped the switch to open the hangar doors and watched as the roof opened up to the dark night. She ran and jumped into her gundam and quickly shot off into the dark night. The full moon was in front of her, it seemed to guide her, egging her on to where she knew was going to open old wounds.
“Why am I doing this Quinlang?” She asked quietly.
“Because, its curiosity isn’t it?” The suit answered back.
She smiled and looked at the moon. “I guess you’re right. You’re always right.” She said to reassure herself. She closed her eyes and let the sleep drift over her.
“Ai, we’re here.” The suit said.
Ai jolted awake and looked around to see the moon higher in the sky and down below, the lights of the grand mansion that she seeked. She smiled and lowered the gundam down to the small gathering of trees and took the plugs out of her flesh. She opened the cockpit and stepped out, dropping silently to the ground. She looked around to see if she had drawn any attention to herself. When she had seen that she hadn’t and ran silently over the forests and into the lush lawn of the mansion.
Her blacksuit shifted into a pair of white pants and blue tank top. The same way her father always wore his. She saw a slightly opened window and got on her toes and looked in. He was there. Bending over his desk, writing something. The knife that she had thrown at him was sitting on the desk. She opened it slightly and lifted herself down. She slipped from the faulty footing and crashed to the floor, landing on her chin, her feet still out the window.
He turned and held the gun out. Her legs lifted out the window and she slid sideways to the floor, landing on her knees, her chin still on the floor. She lifted her self up to sit on her legs and she rubbed her chin. “itai…” She muttered.
He laughed at her and put the gun on the table. “Well, you could’ve come through the front door.” He said as he held a hand out for her. She took it and hoisted herself up and looked up to face him.
“Oh sure.” She muttered. “Hi Guys! Don’t worry, I’m not here to kill the general, I just wanna talk to him and get my knife back. So, don’t mind me!” She said sarcastically as she waved, baring her teeth in her rediculas smile.
“There are no guards. Nobody knows about this place.” He said as he turned back to his desk and picked up the pen. “How did you find it?” He asked as he signed a document.
Ai smiled and picked up the small, lethal blade and turned it in her hand. She unscrewed the handle and showed him a small red light that was glowing. “Bug. I always take back my knives.” She said as she flicked a little switch and the light turned off. She put the knife in a sheath that she produced from her pocket.
“You and your friend have caused a lot of paperwork for your little fireworks demonstration.” He muttered as he pointed to the box of paper besides his desk. He signed another paper.
“Little? That was my finest yet.” She smiled.
“It cost me a lot of men.” He said, sounding angry. He looked up and met her ebony eyes.
She shrugged and broke the stare. “You must always expect to sacrifice lives in order to obtain peace.” She said.
He slammed his fists down, causing Ai to jump. “Who the hell are you?” He asked angrily. He stood to his full height and glared at her. She stood and glared back.
“Ai.” She said.
“Where do you come from?”
“L5.” She answered.
“Why are you here?”
She shook her head. “Can’t answer that. I promised someone.” She said sadly.
“Are you related to Chang Wufei?” He asked.
“Yes.” She answered with a wry smile.
“Relation?” he asked.
“Ah, yet again, classified.” She said.
He sighed and slumped into his chair and covered his face with his hands. “Why are you here?” he asked.
“I have always heard of you as a great man. A genius in the art of war and politics. I wanted to see with my very own eyes.” She smiled as she sat in the chair in front of his desk.
“Great man? Genius?” He laughed ruefully as he leaned back in his chair and looked at her. “No. You must have taken a wrong turn somewhere.” He said as he played with the cap to his pen.
She stood and put a knee on the desk, then another and then leaned forward until her face was just inches from his. She stared at him for a while, it seemed to unnerve him, not because she was a complete stranger and that she had a knife in her hand, she was beautiful. Her breath was hot against his skin and her eyes twinkled mischievously. “Hmm…that’s funny.” She muttered.
“What?” he whispered, not daring to blink because the nymph like girl staring at him seemed so unreal.
“I could’ve sworn it was Kushrenada.” She said. “Oh well.” She shrugged as she hopped off of the desk and turned to the door.
“Wait! Where are you going? There are guards out there.” He said as he stood. Why was he doing this? She was a total stranger to him, yet, she was so fascinating.
She looked over her shoulder “I thought you told me that there was no guards.” She said.
“I lied.” He said quickly as he turned and walked away from the desk, towards her.
She laughed and turned to look at him. “So this is Trieze Kushrenada! The great General my father talked so much about.” She said as she clapped her hands together.
He stopped and looked at the mahogany cabinet. “Drink?” He asked.
“That would be great.” She said as she sat back down in the chair. He poured her some brandy from a bottle and handed it to her. “Thank you.’ She said as she took a small sip and looked up at him. He had expected her to choke on the bitter taste but she smiled instead.
They sat together in his office and talked, not the talk of soldiers or enemies but one of friends. They laughed and told stories to each other until late in the night. Ai body was becoming warm and tingly from the alcohol that she had consumed and Trieze was acting a little odd for himself.
“Who’s your father?” He asked suddenly.
“Oh…I still too sober to tell you.” She laughed as she stood and put the glass on the desk. She looked at him and then to the window behind him. The moon was low in the sky and there was a pink dusk settling in. She sighed and walked to the window. “I’ve gotta go.” She said, sounding almost apologetic.
“Can you tell me before you go…?” there was a knock at the door.
Ai looked around the room and ducked under the desk. “Come in.” Treize commanded as he sat down. His knees pressed against Ai’s back.
“Trieze, may I talk to you?” The person asked at the door.
“Yes Tristan?” He asked.
Ai tried to stand and hit her head on the desk, the objects clattered. There was cursing and a smile from Trieze. “LEMME OUT!” She yelled as she pushed at his knees. She crawled out and stood besides Treize, her ebony eyes shone with tears. The man that stood in front of her seemed to be a younger version of Treize, but his hair was long and pulled back, his face was deeper tanned and his nose was dusted with light freckles.
“Ai!” He said as he held his arms out for her. She stumbled forwards and fell into his arms, sobbing loudly. “What are you doing here?” He asked.
She looked into his eyes and smiled. “I came to visit him and get my knife back.” She said. “I thought you were dead!” She gushed, new tears seemed to flow down her face.
“Ahh, so it’s all coming together.” Treize said as he stood up and looked at them. “you’re from the future…and Wufei is your father.” He smiled.
Ai withdrew from his arms and slapped him. “That’s for leaving me.” She scowled. “And this…” She went on her toes and kissed him lightly on the lips. “Is for being alive.” She added.
He grinned at her. “It all makes it worth while.” He smiled.
“Why didn’t you come back to me?” She whispered.
“Because, the portal on my suit is broken and I have no way to fix it. I figured you’d be around soon.” He said.
“Are you coming back?” She asked.
“If you want me to.” He smiled and then glanced at Trieze. “Is that alright?” he asked.
“Yes, of course.” Trieze nodded.
“Do I want you back! Hah!” She yelled as she stepped back and out of his arms. “Of course I do Baka!” She said.
“Well my little dragon, you better go back to where the others are.” Tristan said as he looked at the pink sky and the rising sun.
Ai shook her head. “I don’t think so. I just found you and I’m not going anywhere without you.” She said quickly as grabbed his wrist.
“It’s alright. You can stay here…just don’t blow anything up. I hate paperwork.” Treize muttered as he picked the box off of the floor and put it on the desk.
Tristan and Ai laughed. “Its not me that you have to worry about. It’s Hera.” Ai said.
“Hera…?” Treize frowned. “oh!! Heero’s kid.” He nodded. “I suppose…I always thought it was actually Quatre that got a little carried away with the explosives.” Treize chuckled.
“Quatre?” Ai smiled. “Well, now that I think of it, he does like his bases well done.”
Tristan walked to the desk and picked up the documents and looked at Treize. “Where do they go?” he asked.
“Don’t worry about it. I’ll do that…” Treize said as he took the box and walked to the door. “You guys just get caught up.” He closed it and the two were alone. Ai looked at Tristan, who was frowning at the direction of the door.
“Mayb—Mmmphf!” He was interrupted by Ai who ran forwards and crashed into him, the fell on the floor and Ai smothered him with a kiss. “Deprived that long, ne?” He laughed as she ripped his shirt from him.
“You…have…no…idea!” She said between kisses.
