Generation X

Part 14

Duo asked Heero excitedly about the game, only getting grunts for replies. Duo sighed and stopped talking. Hera glanced at Junior, who walked silently besides her. She smiled and walked closer putting an arm around his waste. He slid an arm around hers. He laughed as he picked a leaf off of her hat.

“I’m hungry.” She complained.

“Yeah me too, since we never had any breakfast.” He explained. “Duo… what time is it?” He asked.

Duo glanced at his watch. “2:30.” He responded.

They walked into the grand Manson and took off their muddy boots. Hera’s suit sucked up the mud and she took the flap of her shirt and wiped her face off. Her face was spotless.

They silently walked to their bedrooms to change and/or rest. Hera collapsed on the bed and sighed loudly. Junior fell besides her. She closed her eyes and fell into an easy, black sleep.

“Heero?” Duo asked behind him as he shut the door to the bathroom.

“What?” He asked sounding impatient.

“What was she like… I mean fighting against?” He asked curiously.

“Good, she knew her stuff when it came to warfare.” He growled as he shut the door. Excellent, she just played. I would hate to be her enemy. He thought to himself as he turned the tap to the shower. I Guess whoever taught her, taught her well… He sighed loudly as he stepped lightly into the shower.

“Heero?” A high feminine voice asked midst the swirling steam.

“What?” He asked as he scrubbed the dirt off of his body furiously.

“Can I talk to you?” She asked.

“Yeah, who is this?” He growled.

“Oh sorry, it’s Hera.” She muttered, barely audible over the sound of the water.

“I want to take my Gundam out.” She ordered.

“Well, I’m not stopping you.” He grumbled as he rinsed the soap off.

“I want you to come with me.” She said He held himself back from sounding excited. “ Sure.” He muttered.

“Hurry then, and we’ll go.” She said as he heard the door slam shut.

He smiled to himself as started to wash his hair. This will be exciting…He thought grinning to himself.

“Finally…” She muttered as Heero showed up in the doorway to the Hangar. She got up from the Gundam’s foot. He stood in front of her, looking impressed with the sight of the Gundam. “Ready?” She asked as she put a foot into the handle of the wire to the cockpit.

“Yeah.” He grumbled as he walked forwards. He stopped in front of her and gasped as she grabbed his waste and felt the pull and his feet lifting off the ground. They flew upwards and slowed to a stop when the cockpit door hissed open.

She stepped out onto the cockpit and took something out from under her seat. It looked like a shifting mass of black slim, She held out to him. “Here, put this on.” She muttered.

He took it reluctantly and held it in the palm of his hand. He looked up at her and frowned. “And what am I supposed to do with this?” He asked impatiently.

She rolled her eyes impatiently and shoved his open hand onto his chest. The black blob grew and slithered up his arm. It felt warm and like water running over his body. He felt his tank top and shorts dissolve as the slime covered his whole body, taking form as a body suit, similar to hers. He gasped as he felt his skin tearing a tiny holes in the back of his neck and down his spine and on his other joints.

“Don’t worry, the suit is just opening up input holes just in case you want to fly.” She muttered as she held out an arm for him to take. He took it and stumbled into the cockpit. He shuddered as the suit filled in the holes.

He panicked as the cockpit went black. “I can’t see!” He gasped as he rubbed his eyes.

“Don’t worry, it’s the suit, it wants to see what you’re seeing… it’ll just take a minute.” He heard her say. He felt her hands steady him. He saw grey and then the picture went blurry, his vision slowly went back to him. “Better?” She asked slapping on the back.

He blinked ad looked at her. “Warn me next time it does that.” He muttered.

“Sure.” She laughed as she turned to watch the cockpit shift. The seat slid up and another one filled in behind it. She turned and looked at him. “That’s your seat.” She smiled.

He gave her a sidelong glance and then slumped into the seat. A visor, similar to the one that she had given him, liquidized on his face. He gasped and couldn’t help but squirm as tiny plugs started to connect into the holes that had been opened on his back and other places. He looked up and saw Hera squirming in her seat. She stopped as the plug finished connected.

Her face flashed in the corner of her visor. “You ready?” She asked.

“Yeah.” He grumbled.

She reached over and flipped a button. Heero gaped as the walls of the cockpit dissolved. He looked around and saw the whole hangar. “Three-sixty screen…nice.” He muttered sounding impressed.

“Thank you.” She said sounding smug.

Hera’s seat swung upwards and straightened out, Heero’s face went white as his chair shifted and slid besides her. He could see her face, and her ever move. His chair wet lower into the cockpit.

“Don’t worry, the chair is just shifting to make room for me.” She said as she started to move her legs, like she was walking on air. The Gundam copied her every move. It walked forwards and stopped as the hangar doors slowly went open, above them. She jerked her wrist and the shot upwards.
