Generation X

Part 10

“What’s going on?” Quatren asked as she threw open the door. Heero, Duo and Trevor where behind her.

“She tripped.” He said as he laid her on the bed.

“Did she?” Quatren’s voice was riddled with scepticism.

“Yeah. Please leave, she’s alright.” He muttered as he tore a piece of his pyjama top off and started to clean the cut out.

“Just let me see if there is any internal damage.” Quatren muttered as the visor slithered over her face. She stared for a while, then turned and walked out. “Nothing’s wrong.” She said over her shoulder.

He removed the cloth from her forehead. The cut was gone, the nano suit had done its job. There wasn’t a scar on her face. He smiled and wiped the blood crusted bangs out of her face. Her eyes opened, their cool cobalt eyes stared back at him.

“Hera… I…” he murmured.

She hushed him. “Junior don’t say anything.”

He sighed and laid down besides her. She pulled him closer. He put his head on her chest, listening to her heartbeat. He closed his eyes and sighed.

“Junior… turn the light off.” She ordered quietly. He looked at her, then got up and turned the light out and hopped back in bed, laying his head on her chest. She put her hand on his neck and stroked the stray hair under his braid. He sighed contentedly and closed his eyes, letting sleep take hold of him.

“Ahh isn’t that sweet.” A voice said.

Junior’s eyes opened and he bolted up. He looked over to see Hera doing the same. It was Quatren, she was alone.

“Get out.” Junior mumbled staring at the girl.

Hera glared at her. Quatren smiled and casually asked “Hera, you okay?”

“Yeah.” She growled.

“What happened?” The blonde asked suspiciously.

“I tripped.” Hera murmured.

“Oh… Get up. It’s already noon. Everyone else is gone to training.” She smiled at the dishevelled two.

“NOON! Why did you let us sleep in so late?” Hera asked angrily.

“You two deserved your sleep.” Quatren said.

“Yeah, you two where doing something I don’t think was good, since the two senior officers are asleep.” Hera pointed out suspiciously.

“Nope… honestly, we thought you guys where exhausted.” She nodded.

“Fine.” Hera said as she waited for her pyjama’s to change into black shorts and a green tank top.

“Wait. Take a shower Hera, your hair looks really gross.” Junior pointed out bluntly.

“Ohh yeah.” She muttered as she remembered last night. She looked at Quatren and raised her eyebrows higher. “Bathroom?” She asked.

Quatren turned and walked out of the room and down the hall to the bathroom.

Junior’s torn pyjamas changed into a black pair of Jodphors and a clergyman’s top, and black leather boots. “Finally!” He exasperated. He walked down the hallway to the hangar and stopped in front of a boy that looked identical to him.

“Whoa… I like it.” Duo chuckled.

“Really? I got it from my dad.” Junior smiled as the two turned and walked towards the group of pilots.

“Where is Hera?” Ai asked as she glanced over his shoulder.

“Taking a shower.” A clear feminine voice said behind Junior and Duo.

“Oh… how long will she take. I’d like to get going soon.” Heero said as he glanced at his watch.

“Just a few minutes. She has to wash her hair.” Quatren said.

The group started talking and waited patiently as Hera showed up in the Hangar. Her hair hung loosely around shoulders. Cascading like a waterfall down her back. Heero turned and looked at her. He wasn’t the only one, everyone fell silent as they saw Hera walk towards them. She had on large, straight-legged pants that were tight at the waste and butt but fell loosely down her legs. Suspenders that seemed unnecessary held up the pants. She had on a tight white top that was cut just above her bellybutton, she had on black boots that seemed to have no solid sole in them.

“Nice.” Duo muttered.

Junior smiled and walked over to her. “Don’t you think that’s a little inappropriate?” He said under his breath.

“No. It’s perfect.” She smiled. “If I’m going to fight I might as well enjoy it.” He flicked her hair over her shoulder. She walked pass him and stopped in front of Heero, who was also gapping at her.

“What are we going to do?” She asked frowning at the combats that he was decked in.

“We are going into the forest to play a game.” He said simply.

“Goody. Lemme guess, Hunt’n Snipe?” She guessed, obviously she guessed correctly.

“Yeah.” He muttered under his breath.

“I’m good at that game.” She smiled. “ You don’t have to tell us the rules, we already know them.” She added as she walked over to her group, which had separated themselves from the original Gundam Pilots.

Her suit started to transform into. The rest of her group shifted their original clothes into Combats like His. She started to braid her hair. Her suit slithered over her head and formed a green cap. “Well Heero, lets see, who are the teams? Originals versus X? “ she suggested.

“Sounds good to me.” He smiled. “We’ll see what you’re really made of.” He added.

The other group followed. They all turned and walked out the door, towards the trees at the far end of the meadow. The stopped just before the tree line. A tall burly man waited for them, there was a crate set right besides him. He opened it and passed out rifles silently. He gave the groups each a large bag of small balls.

“You know how to use these?” The large man said in a low voice.

“Yeah… paintball.” Junior smiled as he looked at the shiny weapon he held in his hands.
