about the den
2628It all started in the year 2000, when my yaoi craze lead me to read Gundam Wing fan fiction, since it not only eclipsed all other fan fiction but was/is predominantly boyxboy. I spotted a site called GundamW Densetsu on Anipike (remember that site?), liked it, and made it a habit to visit it. Several months later, its webmistress Nanashi posted a retirement note explaining that she could no longer maintain it, offering it to anyone who'd have it. A consultation with JC (you rule! <3) and not nearly enough pondering later, I adopted Densetsu.
From March 26, 2001, Densetsu was in my hands—dun dun dun! Yes, in the hands of an angsty nerd who knew nothing about anything; hence, the experimenting began. The first thing I did was purchase gwdensetsu.com to escape geocities. Everything was going swimmingly until I forgot to renew that domain name and Netster instantly snatched it up (the bastards are still holding it hostage). So, I had to move Densetsu yet again, to gwdensetsu.net, where we are now. Yay!
Then years started floating by. Everything I now know I picked up from Densetsu (naturally, by making horrible mistakes): design, coding, etiquette, writing. With each new layout, I learned a few new tricks. By 2003, the Den had sprawled more than any self-respecting site should. I even set up a forum, which lasted a year or so until it got hacked.
In 2005, it finally dawned on me that Densetsu's fan fiction pages should probably match its layouts, so I rolled up my sleeves and proceeded to revamp 2,000+ files. Manually. Yeah, that took some time... and would have been worth it had I not put Densetsu into a "permanent" hiatus later that year. I thought it would ease my upcoming graduation (ahem, from college). I suppose it did, but neglecting my adopted baby website wasn't easy. I have a lot of love for it—enough to compensate for all the pain managing its massive ass causes me (my Den folder is 2.55 GB—that's 15 NANA episodes).
So, early 2007, when an editor by the name of Stripe contacted me, expressing an interest in reviving the Den, I agreed. Only, she vanished, so I recruited PhoenixFire (thank you! <3). Though saved by Phoenix, I could still barely handle my fat website, so I had it get on a Treadmill and shed some weight). Now, the two of us run this place in peace and harmony... or something. But what will the future bring?? *cheesy moment* Um, hopefully great new fics! (' v ') <3
Um, hullo! I'm the moody, impulsive, bizarre human who's been pouring over this site for 7 years now. Wow. What propels me to do it? I dunno, habit? Addiction to sexy literature? Either way, it's not normal and neither am I. I guess I just can't get over certain things, GW fan fiction being one and
I discovered GW fan fiction in 2002, shortly after watching and loving what my stepdad had of the series (the first five eps and Endless Waltz). The first GW fansite I knew and loved was Aenai Ai, but I eventually wanted more. So I went to Mel and Christy's Death and the Dragon. I lurked about the fandom for a good three years, then found Gundam Wing Addiction, and discovered a place I could post my fanfics! (Cue heavenly music and a chorus singing "Hallelujah!") I was recruited from there May 2007. I have a few other fandoms that I look into on occasion, but GW is my first and strongest love, although boys smexing other boys will always catch my attention. And vampires. Vampires are GOOOD.
